PAL-C Congratulates Muhammad Sadiq on Appointment as Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Monday named Director General of Personnel Muhammad Sadiq as its new spokesperson in place of Tasnim Aslam who will leave for Rome next month and will assume the position of Pakistan’s Ambassador to Italy. Tasnim Aslam introduced Sadiq to reporters during her weekly press, saying in a lighter vein that her successor will be at the media’s mercy after October 8.

Mr. Sadiq has three Master degrees including one in International Affairs from Columbia University, U.S.A. He joined Pakistan’s Foreign Service in 1980 and has served in Brussels, Beijing and also as Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) in Washington, DC where he was highly regarded and respected for his work by many members of the Pakistani-American community all over the United States.

While serving as the DCM in Washington DC, Sadiq was very instrumental and played a key role in improving U.S.-Pakistan relations, the large scale electronic communication and database of the Pakistani-American Community, and the integration of second generation, younger Pakistani Americans into the mainstream activities of the community and Embassy.

As Mr. Sadiq once said, “There is no contradiction between being a proud Pakistani and a proud Pakistani-American. The pride has its responsibility as well and you have to act in a responsible way that would make your community proud of you too.

PAL-C would like to congratulate Mr. Sadiq on his position and wishes him the best of successes in this position and in all his endeavors.
