WASHINGTON D.C., October 23 – Representatives from the Pakistani American Leadership Center (PAL-C) met with Dr. Salman Shah, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Finance and Economy and Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan at a reception hosted by the U.S.-Pakistani Business Council.

The meetings were very productive and cast the growing Pakistani economy in a very positive light. Dr. Salman Shah in particular, noted that the more foreign investors invest in Pakistan, “the better it [the investment climate for foreign investors] gets.”

The Pakistani American Leadership Center (PAL-C) is the only professional Pakistani-American advocacy organization that has an office located on Capitol Hill. It launched the Congressional Pakistan Caucus in May 2004 and works to raise awareness about Pakistani-American interests in Washington policy circles.
