PAL-C Hosts High Level Karachi Trade Delegation 

The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Has a Successful Visit to Capitol Hill; Constructive Dialogue established on ROZs, Pakistan-U.S. bilateral trade and FDI, and Private Sector Empowerment

Washington, D.C., August 9, 2007:  The Pakistani American Leadership Center (PAL-C) had the pleasure to host in Washington, D.C. a visiting high-powered trade delegation from Pakistan’s Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). The KCCI delegatio n visited our nation’s capital from July 29th to August 2nd.

On July 30th, PAL-C held a dinner in honor of the KCCI delegation at the residence of National Director, Mr. Mossadaq Chughtai in Vienna, Virginia. The guests comprised of Pakistani businessmen, political activists, young professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs, American corporate representatives, as well as Pakistani and American government officials. At the dinner, Mr. Mossadaq Chughtai personally asked his guests to support investment and trade in Pakistan, and to urge members of Congress to support the ROZ initiative.

 

The Pakistani American Leadership Center (PAL-C) is the only professional Pakistani-American advocacy organization that has an office located on Capitol Hill. It launched the Congressional Pakistan Caucus in May 2004 and works to raise awareness about Pakistani-American interests in Washington policy circles. Our activities include facilitating the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, liaisoning Pakistani officials and the community with Members of Congress, and mobilizing all Pakistani-Americans at the grassroots level.
